Your Impact

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient material movement in support of production and customer delivery requirements. This role owns execution-level results for safety, quality, and throughput across inbound and outbound logistics activities. The Shipping Supervisor ensures accurate documentation, timely shipments and receipts, optimized dock flow, and strong coordination with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise daily shipping and receiving operations to achieve safety, quality, and throughput targets.
  • Own inbound and outbound material flow to ensure timely receipts, accurate shipments, and minimal disruption to production and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure all shipping and receiving documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
  • Resolve shipment discrepancies, damages, and delivery issues with carriers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Optimize dock operations, staging, and material handling processes to improve flow, reduce congestion, and increase throughput.
  • Enforce safety policies, material handling standards, and regulatory compliance across all shipping and receiving activities.
  • Monitor and improve key performance metrics including on-time shipments, receipt accuracy, dock efficiency, and incident rates.
  • Coordinate daily priorities with Production, Supply Chain, Inventory, and Planning teams to support operational needs.
  • Train, coach, and hold shipping and receiving team members accountable to standard work, safety practices, and performance expectations.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Maintain organized work areas, clear material identification, and proper storage to support safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of material handling equipment.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Proven ability to lead teams with accountability for safety, quality, and throughput results.
  • Strong knowledge of shipping documentation, inventory transactions, and material flow processes.
  • Experience coordinating with carriers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies quickly and effectively.
  • Solid understanding of material handling equipment and warehouse safety practices.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Employees must be able to talk and hear and frequently sit, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Regular lifting up to 25 lbs and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs is required. Vision requirements include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, electrical hazards, and high noise levels that require hearing protection.
