Overview

This 10-week, full-time rotation places early-career professionals at the center of Global Crossing Airlines operations within the Operations Control Center (OCC) or Crew Scheduling depts. Participants gain hands‑on exposure to real-time operational decision‑making, learning how flights, crews, and resources are managed to keep the operation safe, compliant, and running on schedule.

1st Year Rotation (10 Weeks)

This 10-week, full-time rotation places early-career professionals at the center of Global Crossing Airlines operations within the Operations Control Center (OCC) or Crew Scheduling depts. Participants gain hands‑on exposure to real‑time operational decision‑making, learning how flights, crews, and resources are managed to keep the operation safe, compliant, and running on schedule.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Support daily OCC or Crew Scheduling activities, including monitoring flight status, crew coverage, and operational constraints.
  • Assist with disruption management by tracking delays, cancellations, aircraft swaps, and crew legality considerations.
  • Participate in operational briefings and shift handovers to understand real‑time decision‑making.
  • Analyze operational data and help identify trends impacting on‑time performance, crew utilization, and reliability.
  • Contribute to process improvement focused on efficiency, communication, and operational resilience.
What You Will Learn

  • Fundamentals of crew scheduling, legality, and regulatory considerations.
  • How operational decisions balance safety, compliance, cost, and customer impact.

  • Defined learning objectives and regular feedback throughout the rotation.
  • Exposure to experienced operations leaders and real‑world operational scenarios.
Qualifications
  • Current Purdue University student pursuing a degree in Aviation, Operations or Engineering
  • Strong interest in airline operations, scheduling, or real‑time decision‑making.
  • Ability to think critically, stay organized, and perform under time pressure.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability and willingness to work in a 24/7 operational environment, including nights, weekends, and other non‑standard hours
Location & Schedule
  • On‑site
  • Full‑time for the duration of the 10-week rotation.
