– Job Description Summary / Objective
The Mobile Midwife Clinic Driver is responsible for transporting the mobile clinic to scheduled locations, performing routine vehicle maintenance, and supporting the setup and breakdown of clinic operations. This role supports SBJN’s mission by improving access to midwifery and doula services for marginalized communities.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Drive the mobile clinic to assigned clinic and event locations. Pick up the RV, prepare it for use, transport it to clinic sites, remain onsite during clinic hours, and return it after operations conclude. Perform basic vehicle maintenance and coordinate service or repairs as needed. Ensure the vehicle is stocked with required medical and administrative supplies. Assist with setup and tear-down of mobile clinic operations.
Maintain the safety and security of the vehicle, equipment, and supplies at all times.
Clean driving record with strong safe-driving skills. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Strong time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibility.
This role operates primarily in a mobile clinic environment and may include administrative or office settings as needed. The position routinely uses mobile clinic equipment, phones, and standard office equipment.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently must stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift supplies and equipment weighing up to 50–60 pounds and to bend, stand, and move as necessary.
PositionType / Expected Hours of Work
Part-time position, approximately 20–24 hours per week. Position is based in Miami-Dade and requires the ability to lift 50–60 pounds. Motor vehicle record (MVR) check and drug screening are required.
TravelUp to 100% travel within the designated service area. Occasional out-of-area travel may be required.
Requirements RequiredEducation and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and valid insurance. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
PreferredEducation and Experience
Prior experience operating large vehicles or mobile units. Basic mechanical or vehicle maintenance knowledge.
