Job Summary
Brink's Global Services, a division of Brink's Inc., offers secure transportation and handling of valuable goods worldwide. We are seeking an Import/Export Transportation Coordinator to join our Latin America regional office in Miami, FL.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and respond to customer calls, emails, and faxes in a timely manner.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day activities for import/export shipments and ensure smooth operations with customers, airlines, and field locations.
- Partner with operations staff to determine accurate operational service capabilities.
- Meet all IATA and U.S. Customs requirements in document generation and cargo handling.
- Handle service concerns diplomatically and channel complaints to appropriate personnel.
- Secure necessary paperwork for all international moves, including commercial invoices and special customs documents.
- Determine when a courier is required and make courier arrangements with the appropriate gateway airport office.
- Respond to inquiries regarding the status of items in transit.
- Prepare customs entries and follow up with the clearance process on all entries.
- Scan, file, copy, and assemble essential documents such as bills of lading, dock receipts, licenses, and consulate documents.
- Perform data entry for all export shipments into the operating system and maintain hard‑copy files.
- Research customer claims and ensure the highest level of customer service on every call.
- Ensure all transportation arrangements consider security implications according to BGS Procedures and General Security Regulations (GSR).
- Work closely with department members to complete and distribute workload, maintaining high‑quality service to customers via voice mails, e‑mails, and phone calls.
- Minimum 1 year of hands‑on air freight export coordination experience, including routing, pricing, and data entry.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with Microsoft Office and other transportation software programs.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Able to work weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours.
- Able to lift at least 50 pounds as needed and when necessary on a regular basis.
- Experience in a fast‑paced high‑volume import/export department for an air freight forwarder.
- More than 1 year of experience servicing customers in the transportation/logistics industry as a coordinator or shipment router.
- Good basic math skills.
- Transferable internal BGS experience in an exports, customer service, or other operational position with knowledge of BITS, ATLAS, and GARCIA.
- Experience in secured logistics.
- Advanced level Microsoft Office skills.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
