ResponsibilitiesAn SP+ Shuttle Driver DOT will be responsible for the proper and safe operation of shuttle buses and transporting passengers, making sure passengers get to their destination in an efficient, safe, and seamless manner.
What You’ll Do- Go above and beyond to deliver an exceptional client and customer experience guided by the SP+ Promise, including answering questions, offering city directions, and ensuring each customer interaction is positive.
- Perform vehicle inspections, maintain bus interior cleanliness, fuel buses, log trip counts, and assist disabled passengers.
- Be at work every scheduled day, on time and in uniform.
- Possess a valid state‑issued driver’s license and carry it with you at all times while on duty.
- Maintain an acceptable DMV record.
- Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards, or any unusual occurrence to the Facility Manager.
- Communicate debris, water, oil spills, etc. to the garage office.
- Substitute for Cashiers or Valets when necessary, if authorized.
- Have a thorough knowledge of all areas of the garage and major streets, landmarks, and freeways nearby to assist customers in a seamless transportation experience.
- Assist customers with luggage and other traveling items, if applicable (e.g., operating shuttle buses at an airport location).
- Assist the Facility Manager with other duties as needed.
- Less than a High School education or one month related experience, training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid CDL Class A, B, or C driver’s license with Passenger Endorsement and a DOT Medical Card.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide up to 100’s, and use units of American money).
- Neat and clean appearance, uniform at all times.
- Physical ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands to handle cash and equipment, occasionally sit, climb or balance, and lift or move up to 75 pounds.
- Availability for special shift requirements, including 3rd shift and/or weekends if required.
- Valid DOT regulations, maintain a clean DMV record.
