Position Summary

The OCC Duty Manager provides day-to-day leadership and supervision of all Operations Control Center (OCC) personnel. This role ensures seamless execution of flight release, flight following, arrival, and post-flight procedures. The Duty Manager serves as a technical subject matter expert, supporting delegated operational control and flight control functions for all Amerijet International Airlines (AMJ) flights. The position also acts as a liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders, ensuring the continuous flow of critical operational information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and support Operations Control Center (OCC) personnel.
  • Act independently and apply operational expertise to ensure effective coordination between OCC, Crew Scheduling, Maintenance Control, Ground Operations, Commercial, and Flight Operations.
  • Make real-time decisions to optimize flight operations, ensuring safe, legal, and efficient flights.
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication between OCC and Ground Operations to drive on-time performance.
  • Manage and respond promptly to irregular operations (IROPs), including weather disruptions, AOG events, and crew movement changes.
  • Maintain internal and external customer communication and ensure timely operational updates.
  • Ensure effective use of operational tools, including but not limited to AIMS Flight Operations Software, Nav Blue N-Flight Planning System, WSI Fusion – IBM, CASS/KCM ARINC Website, and ARINC – Ops Center – ACARS.
  • Supervise flight control procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of Amerijet operations.
  • Authorize and redirect flight control resources to meet operational priorities.
  • Maintain continuous knowledge of the location and status of all Amerijet aircraft during missions.
  • Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.
  • Oversee and monitor all flights, coordinating changes, priorities, and deviations to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues impacting the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Provide quality control, coaching, and mentorship to Flight Followers, ensuring adherence to qualification standards per company policy and FAA regulations.
  • Assign flights to Flight Followers on duty and lead daily operational calls.
  • Operate Alert Media for emergency and critical situation notifications.
  • Assist with preparation of operational reports.
  • Perform other duties as needed by the company.
Minimum Qualifications , Skills,

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in dispatch operations in a cargo or airline environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations (14 CFR), FAA policies, and current aviation directives.
  • Proficient in the use of flight planning and operations control software such as AIMS, Nav Blue, WSI Fusion, ARINC systems.
  • Strong real-time decision-making skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain effective communication with multiple departments and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Transportation, or related field.
  • 5 years or more of experience in airline or cargo dispatch operations.
  • Previous experience supervising or mentoring OCC or Dispatch personnel.
  • Familiarity with air cargo operations procedures and requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provides leadership, oversight, and daily guidance to Flight Followers and OCC team members.
  • Coaches and mentors employees, providing input to management regarding performance evaluations and training needs.
  • Oversees on-the-job training for new OCC personnel.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and professionally in English.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, crew members, and customers.
