Scripps Sports Local Sales Manager, WSFL - Miami, FL; Hybrid

• Collaborate with sr. director, sales (DOS) and other sales managers and departments to accomplish the objectives of the station with regard to Scripps Sports team sales and sponsor ships
• Help in negotiating ratings, rates and budgets for sports with local station leadership
• Develop new business for station utilizing and maximizing all station platforms including but not limited to broadcast, digital, mobile, and sponsor ships
• Assist AE's on key client sales calls for sports sponsor ships
• Develop working knowledge of local sports landscapes and leagues
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Sales Managers to train, develop and motivate the local sales team so that revenue goals are achieved for sports budgets
• Maintain positive working relationships with outside vendors
• Interface with traffic systems and personnel to ensure efficient management of airtime inventory
• Know the strengths and weaknesses of the competing stations, other advertising mediums and position the station accordingly
• Effectively forecast sports sales revenue and manage department expenses so that financial goals are achieved
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, which may include entertaining prospective and existing clients, attending sporting events or other associated functions
• Collaborate with Scripps sr director sports revenue to support the local station

• BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience
• Generally, 8+ years of experience in related field preferred
• Prior managerial experience preferred
• Experience in Sports Business Sales on League, Team, or Media side with a proven track record exceeding revenue goals
• Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
