Job Description: Apex Systems is looking for an AWS Cloud Platform Engineer to help grow and support our clients' website and channels that sell to all consumers. The hiring manager needs someone with strong AWS experience, Kubernetes (EKS) and Git Ops experience. Candidates must be willing to work Hybrid onsite in Miami, FL.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Cloud Platform Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will be instrumental in building, managing, and scaling our cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will be responsible for providing a robust and reliable platform that empowers our product teams to rapidly build and deploy innovative applications. You will leverage Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) principles, Git Ops methodologies, and cutting‑edge observability tools to ensure the efficiency, security, and scalability of our cloud environment.

• Design, create, and manage AWS cloud resources using IaC tools such as AWS Cloud Formation and the AWS CDK.
• Implement and manage containerized workloads in Amazon EKS utilizing Git Ops principles and the Flux CD tool.
• Enable product teams to seamlessly build and deploy applications into EKS through Git, Git Hub, Git Hub Actions, and Flux.
• Implement and manage comprehensive observability solutions using Splunk Observability Cloud, including metrics, logging, and tracing.
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications running across our AWS environment, including EKS, Elastic Beanstalk, and Lambda.
• Understand and work with Akamai as our CDN and WAF solution.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams (software engineers, security engineers, etc.) to deliver and maintain platform services.
• Communicate technical concepts and issues to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Create and maintain clear and accurate diagrams illustrating infrastructure and architectural designs.
• Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement within our platform.
• Implement and adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements within the cloud environment.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 5+ years of experience in a Cloud Engineering or Dev Ops role.
• Significant experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, preferably AWS Cloud Formation and CDK.
• Hands‑on experience deploying and managing applications in Kubernetes, ideally with Amazon EKS.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with Git Ops methodologies and tools, particularly Flux CD.
• Experience implementing and utilizing observability platforms, with preference for Splunk Observability Cloud (or similar tools such as Datadog, New Relic).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and experience with tools like Git Hub Actions.
• Experience troubleshooting applications running in various AWS services (EKS, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda).
• Familiarity with CDN and WAF solutions, with knowledge of Akamai being a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of networking principles and security best practices in a cloud environment.
• Experience with scalable architectures, cloud platforms, and transactional applications.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a focus on impact‑driven decision‑making.
