Overview
GENERAL PURPOSE
The Mechanic III is a senior-level role responsible for the advanced repair, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance of complex industrial laundry systems and facility equipment. This role includes leading maintenance projects, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring maximum equipment uptime and performance.
- Lead and model adherence to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on industrial laundry machinery and systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and automation issues
- Program, troubleshoot, and repair PLCs, VFDs, and control panel components
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement long-term reliability solutions
- Optimize and improve preventive maintenance procedures and documentation
- Manage or lead capital improvement projects and equipment installations
- Assist with parts sourcing, inventory planning, and vendor coordination
- Mentor and train Maintenance Technicians I and II
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager in planning and shift leadership
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of maintenance activities in CMMS

Qualifications- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably within commercial laundry, manufacturing, or high-volume production environments
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a technical or trade school program is highly desirable
- Advanced mechanical, electrical, pneumatic (especially conveyor belts), and automation systems knowledge, including hands-on experience with PLC programming, VFD troubleshooting, electromagnetic systems, and industrial control panels
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical diagrams to perform accurate diagnostics and repairs
- Proficient in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for logging work orders, scheduling preventive maintenance, and tracking asset performance
- Skilled in high- and low-voltage electrical systems, with a strong understanding of HVAC controls, thermostats, and boiler systems
- Capable of performing basic welding tasks including acetylene and arc welding for equipment repair and fabrication
- Working knowledge of root cause analysis, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Lean maintenance methodologies to drive continuous improvement and equipment reliability
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to lead maintenance technicians, coordinate priorities, and ensure safety compliance
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, to effectively communicate across a diverse team
- Certifications in electrical safety, HVAC, welding, or other skilled trades are strongly preferred
