Job SummaryThe OHE General Foreman leads the crew to complete daily tasks related to the placement of overhead electrical cables to meet customer needs. This position requires extensive knowledge of overhead electrical distribution systems, management of multiple crews, distribution trouble shooting, and coordination of resources. General Foremen read blueprints, are responsible for production efficiency, training, and crew safety, and oversee multiple overhead utility line teams.
Responsibilities- Obtain all necessary materials for the job and ensure all permits and licenses are in place.
- Oversee work on each project and assume full responsibility for its quality and timeliness.
- Comply with proper safety standards, procedures, and work practices according to Mas Tec or the customer, whichever standard is higher.
- Facilitate daily toolbox talks and weekly safety inspections.
- Perform aerial tasks such as new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, and lashing.
- Place overhead electrical cables and connect wires and cables to terminals.
- Coordinate and supervise daily tasks related to digging and placing product.
- Train new hires and trainees to learn the trade.
- Call in utilities located at each project site.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 7 years of experience.
- 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- 10 or more years of experience, including extensive experience supervising and training skilled labor.
- OSHA 20 Certification.
This job operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, standing, and twisting. Working in inclement weather conditions is common. The position is physically active with lifting up to 50 pounds.
