Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Shop Service Technician. Technicians are responsible for repair, diagnosis, overhaul, and reconditioning maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and components. The technician may perform all or a subset of the duties listed below, depending on location and assignment. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

• Follow all safety rules and regulations while maintaining a safe work environment.
• Recondition, repair, service, and assemble industrial equipment.
• Diagnose problems and determine required repairs.
• Perform inspections and report findings to the Service Manager.
• Maintain records and account for all time, parts, and supplies used.
• Handle customer issues objectively and tactfully.
• Assist in directing work of helpers or trainees and provide instructions.
• Complete dis‑assembly and inspection efficiently to schedule work and order parts.
• Perform all service tasks as assigned by the Service Manager, Supervisor, or Shop Foreman.
• Prepare all required reports and forms related to job assignments.
• Report additional work needed to ensure proper operation and safety of equipment.
• Participate in service training programs for skill development.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Report non‑serviceable or unsafe shop tools and equipment to the Service Manager.
• Represent the dealership as a professional Service Technician at all times.
• Operate trucks and equipment with extreme care and caution.
• Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Arrive on time as scheduled.
• Work up to 12‑hour days, including varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Operate company vehicles and comply with motor‑vehicle safety laws.
• Adhere to all safety policies of Dobbs Equipment and its clients.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment maintenance and operation.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance using specialized tools following Technical Manual procedures.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely around the shop.

• Associate degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school, or a minimum of 2 years related experience (preferred).
• Stay current with technical changes.
• Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Current product knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
• Forklift certification (preferred).
• Strong communication skills with teammates.
• Strong problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent time‑management skills.
• Self‑management and self‑motivation.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends or overtime.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write diagnoses and work completed on routine reports.
• Mathematical ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units).
• Quick learner with creative thinking.
• Occasional overnight travel (
