Lead Mechanic

Schedule:
Monday - Friday (11:00am - 7:30pm)

Wage: $35-$39/hr

The Lead Mechanic oversees vehicle and equipment maintenance, supervises a team of mechanics, and ensures safe, efficient repairs to support airport operations.

• Supervise and coordinate mechanics in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Ensure all repairs comply with safety standards and regulations
• Conduct quality inspections and provide expert guidance on repairs
• Train and mentor junior mechanics and technicians
• Manage parts and tools inventory and maintain accurate maintenance records
• Exemplify Prime Flight customer service and safety standards
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

• 18 years of age or older
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Must have a valid state‑issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• 5 years of experience as a mechanic, with a strong background in vehicle and equipment maintenance, preferably in an airport or similar industrial setting
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a mechanical maintenance environment
• In‑depth knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to mentor and train staff in mechanical maintenance techniques
• Flexibility to work in different shifts and respond to emergency maintenance needs
• Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including iPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
• Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in‑person and through electronic means
• Pass a background check and drug screen
• Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal‑ as applicable)
• Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
