School Campus Security Officer – Full Time
Location:
Miami, Florida, United States of America | DSI Security Services
DSI is adding to its ranks in the Miami, FL area. Come join our fast‑growing team as a Security Officer.
$18.00/hr
Required:
State of Florida Class D Security License.

- Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, parents, and visitors, while providing general security duties to our client.
- Interact with a variety of persons including students, parents, clients, visitors, faculty as well as members of the general public.
- Follow post‑specific instructions as well as DSI General Post Orders/Guidance.
- Ability to work in all‑weather elements.
- Promote safety by being alert to observe, correct and report any hazards.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing mission‑related tasks and effective communication.
- Serve as a Campus Security Officer on school campuses.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as fights, medical emergencies, or other security breaches.
- Provide support and assistance to students, staff, and visitors as needed.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other security personnel to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
- Maintain visibility to ensure safety and deter unacceptable activities.
- Remain at your post until your replacement has arrived.
- Understand and comply with DSI and client requirements.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of DSI’s Code of Ethics and Employee Standards.
- Participate in training and become familiar with general safety procedures, as well as DSI’s safety manual.
- Attend and continue to receive security officer training as required by client or DSI’s training program.
- Present oneself in a professional manner through appearance and conduct.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security or law enforcement, preferably working with children and youth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- At least 21 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid State of Florida Class D Security License.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable means of transportation and communication.
- Pass all required background and drug screenings.
- Customer service oriented.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to perform routine foot patrol, mobile patrol, and moderate lifting.
