Job Description
Retail Parts Professional (Retail Parts Pro) is a full‑time position within the DIY business that combines advanced product knowledge, automotive systems expertise, and customer service. The role supports advanced store functions, including sales, DIY services, inventory management, and safety compliance while achieving personal and store sales goals.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
- Achieve personal / store sales goals and service objectives.
- Manage DIY services, including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
- Perform keyholder duties such as task assignment, safety checks, and open/close responsibilities.
- Assist in store inventory processes including truck put‑away, shoot‑outs, cycle counts, and back‑stock management.
- Maintain store cleanliness on floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot.
- Provide additional DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
- Friendly communication and customer‑focused service.
- Ability to locate and stock parts efficiently.
- Strong safety knowledge and skills.
- Proficiency in operating inventory and POS systems.
- Expertise with testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
- ASE P2 certified or ASE‑ready equivalent preferred.
- Advanced solution‑, project‑, and product‑quality recommendation ability.
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing skills.
- Advanced selling skills for DIY customers.
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability across engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.
- Fluent written and spoken English;
Spanish a plus. - Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Write simple correspondence and accurately execute written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Completely score the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
- Accurately perform basic math operations.
- Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work evenings and weekends.
3‑5 years of automotive parts experience and proven sales ability in fulfilling customer transactions.
Education & Certifications- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ase Certification Preferred; not required.
