Join our team as a Shortage Control Associate and help create a secure and welcoming shopping environment for customers while delivering exceptional service.

• Maintain a professional appearance and wear designated dress, radio, and earpiece.
• Stand with a command presence at the front of the store, remaining vigilant and aware of surroundings.
• Greet every customer entering or exiting with a warm smile and a loud, friendly greeting, promoting a sense of control and security.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and high‑risk areas throughout the shift to reduce opportunities for theft.
• Identify and report theft incidents or suspicious activity to the Manager on Duty.
• Conduct bag and package checks on associates to ensure compliance with safety and security standards.
• Communicate theft‑prevention information during store rallies and collaborate with the Manager on Duty.
• Provide training support to associates on shortage reduction programs and processes.
• Model safety priorities and address unsafe practices promptly.

• Preferred: 1+ year experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, asset protection, loss prevention, or operations.
• Strong awareness of retail shortage areas and support programs.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, and visually monitor for extended periods.
• Confidentiality and business‑trend analysis skills.
• Positive demeanor, strong posture, and energetic greeting.
• Capacity to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment with detailed focus and disciplined decision making.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Competitive wage of $14.00 per hour. Part‑time associates may be eligible for Burlington’s benefits package, including medical coverage, a 401(k) plan, and up to 4 hours of paid time off annually after one year of service. All associates receive a discount and may participate in company training and development opportunities.
