DescriptionThis position is primarily responsible for the operational management of product movement across the showroom, Shopify POS, and e‑commerce platform. The role ensures that inventory is accurately created, received, priced, tracked, and fulfilled, supporting both in‑store and online sales.
This is a hands‑on, detail‑oriented role ideal for someone interested in the buying, merchandising, or retail operations side of a design‑driven brand. Sales and client interaction are an important secondary responsibility, with commission eligibility on in‑store sales, but the core focus is operational excellence and supporting the business behind the scenes.
Responsibilities Retail Operations, Inventory & Shopify Support- Support the day-to-day movement of product across Shopify POS, e‑commerce, back stock, and the showroom floor.
- Assist management with creating and maintaining purchase orders.
- Create and update products in Shopify following Calimia Home standards, including pricing, categories, and inventory setup.
- Support inventory workflows, including receiving, inspecting, pricing, labeling, and stocking product.
- Communicate with vendors regarding damaged, missing, or lost shipments and follow up to resolve issues.
- Assist with receiving shipments, inspecting items, and flagging any issues or discrepancies.
- Help maintain organized back stock and storage areas to support efficient product flow.
- Conduct regular pricing checks and assist with keeping Shopify and in‑store pricing aligned.
- Support floorsets and merchandising transitions, including moving product and organizing inventory.
- Provide backend Shopify support to ensure operational accuracy.
- Assist with fulfilling online orders, ensuring items are packed carefully and to Calimia Home standards.
- Help ensure online orders are processed and shipped the same day whenever possible.
- Maintain packing and fulfillment supplies and notify management when inventory is running low.
- Support basic order tracking and internal communication related to fulfillment.
- Assist with in‑store, project, and photoshoot styling to capture product imagery for the website, social media, and marketing use.
- Support content creation by photographing new arrivals, best sellers, and styled vignettes for Shopify product listings and digital campaigns.
- Support visual merchandising standards and maintain an organized, polished showroom.
- Ensure pricing labels and signage are accurate and up to date.
- Keep the cash wrap organized and properly stocked.
- Maintain daily showroom cleanliness and organization.
- Maintain Sample Library organization.
- Greet walk‑in clients and introduce them to the showroom and Calimia Home offerings.
- Help identify whether clients are shopping retail or exploring larger services such as cabinetry, upholstery, or room design.
- Confidently handle retail transactions through Shopify POS.
- Direct larger‑scope inquiries to the appropriate internal team member.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Interest in retail operations, inventory management, or buying.
- Comfortable learning and working within systems and processes.
- Reliable, proactive, and able to follow standards consistently.
- Friendly, professional communication style.
- Retail, operations, or e‑commerce experience is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Shopify POS or similar platforms is a plus, training will be provided.
- Part-time, hourly position with availability to work weekends.
- Ability to lift and move small furniture pieces, rugs, and packages as needed.
- Comfortable working on your feet and moving throughout the showroom during shifts.
- Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and workflows.
- Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and professional retail environment.
