barista summary/objective: as a barista, you contribute to the success of providing a welcoming, exceptional experience to the rest of the team and our guests. Our team members thrive on empowering the lives of our community by providing products that are on the forefront of nutrition and innovation. You will help with delivering warm and friendly interactions with our guests. From greeting our guests, ringing up orders, preparing beverages/food, ensuring orders are delivered timely, maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

• demonstrate world class hospitality: great customer service (great: greet guests, respect them/team, explain the menu/company, add-ons/app, thank).
• ensure speed of service by providing guests an incredible experience in an accurate and timely manner from when they place order (5-8 mins).
• contribute to team and guest positive culture and/or environment.
• demonstrate professional communication by reading verbal and non-verbal cues.
• obtain and demonstrate retail supplement education and product knowledge.
• upsell products by recommending boosts and items that complement orders.
• demonstrate and communicate our company core values.
• answer phones with proper and professional etiquette (expectation before 2 rings).
• adapt to team dynamics and customer-facing situations.
• participate in in-store daily and offsite events when specified and agreed upon.
• review communication boards for daily education, insights, and company goals.
• maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• adopt a learning/growth mindset; treat mistakes as learning opportunities for improvement.

• complete daily opening and closing checklist and tasks.
• prepare food and beverages (such as smoothies, juices, acai bowls, toast, lattes) to meet guide recipes and standards.
• ensure correct measurements when following all food and drink recipe preparations.
• complete tasks in a timely manner as designated by management.
• stock incoming orders and merchandise products accordingly.
• fill out waste log and other tracking documents.
• wash blenders and kitchen utensils.
• take timely break periods as required; communicate if products are running low.
• fulfill third-party and online orders accurately and in a timely manner.
• follow daily and weekly deep cleaning calendar in store.
• contribute and provide feedback for closing manager reports each day.
• proficiency with technology and pos systems.
• possess a food handlers certification if required by local ordinance.
• check expiration on made-to-order and retail product offerings daily.
• practice first in first out (fifo) product handling.
• follow all safety and health guidelines and conduct sampling events.

this position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

this position works in a food/beverage setting. This role routinely uses restaurant equipment such as blenders, knives, phones, tablets, pos registers, and standard cafe equipment such as freezers, walk-in refrigerators, 3 compartment sinks, ice machines, mop sinks.

days and hours are scheduled based on store business hours.

• ability to quickly learn new procedures, processes, and product knowledge.
• 1 year of experience in food/beverage environments making smoothies, and/or specialty beverages, or experience in retail and hospitality.
• must have (or obtain) a food handlers license prior to employment when required by local ordinance.
• barista, nutrition, and culinary education experience is a plus.
