A Miami
-based Polymer concrete company with disruptive technology is looking for a talented R & D Scientist to join their team. The R&D Scientist actively contributes to the scientific development of advanced polymeric concrete materials within a laboratory environment. This hands‑on role involves conducting innovative research across multiple R&D projects, fostering breakthroughs, and building impactful collaborations with academic and industry partners. As a key individual contributor, the scientist will support the organization’s R&D strategy, drive pipeline development, and play a critical role in advancing long‑term growth in the field of advanced materials.
Purpose
Provide deep scientific expertise in polymer chemistry – preferably thermoset resins, homogeneous catalysis, sustainability (green catalysts), chemical kinetics, RAFT polymerization, and related disciplines to support the development of advanced polymeric concrete materials.
Conduct assigned R&D activities with a focus on scientific innovation and technical excellence. Evaluates emerging opportunities across the research portfolio to drive strategic growth.
Initiates, cultivates, and maintains external collaborations with key academic and industry partners, under the direction of the Lead R & D Scientist.
Plays a key role in mentoring and developing junior scientists, chemists, and laboratory technicians.
Applies critical thinking to identify novel innovations with potential for Intellectual Property (IP) generation.

Stay abreast of cutting‑edge developments, innovations, and discoveries within the field.
Develop and manage a portfolio of exploratory initiatives, maintaining a robust pipeline of high‑quality, forward‑looking projects.
Prepare scientific documentation and presentations of excellent quality.
Monitor and respond to project updates, modifications, and strategic shifts.
Identify, evaluate, and pursue opportunities for R&D partnerships.
Uphold a methodical and rigorous scientific approach in all activities.
Provide accurate, science‑based content to support corporate communications, advocacy efforts, and fundraising campaigns.
Prepare tailored materials for grant applications and reporting to donors and funding bodies.
Contribute significantly towards initiatives that require scientific and technical expertise for fundraising and advocacy.
Serve as a representative of the organization at prominent national and international events.
Skills & AttributesDeep knowledge in homogeneous catalysis, organometallic chemistry, chemical kinetics—Mandatory.
Knowledge of polymers and/or the concrete manufacturing process. Cited publications in peer‑reviewed journals. Experience in patent writing for creating Intellectual Property (IP) for the company – Optional.
1-2 years’ relevant experience working as a scientific researcher in an Industrial R & D setting is welcome but not mandatory.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and matrix structure.
Postgraduate, Ph.D. in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Materials Science Fluency in English.
The Research Scientist reports to the Lead R & D Scientist.
