Postdoctoral Associate (Neurophysiology & Neural Engineering)
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of The Miami Project invites applications for a Full Time Postdoctoral Associate to conduct research in neurophysiology and neural engineering at the UHealth Medical Campus.
Core Responsibilities- Conduct research on specific areas of study as assigned.
- Prepare research reports and technical papers for publication.
- Investigate the feasibility of applying a variety of scientific principles and theories.
- Maintain current knowledge of state‑of‑the‑art principles and theories.
- Develop advanced analytical models and systems to support strategic and tactical decisions.
- Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and safeguard assets.
- Engage in clinical and rehabilitation engineering research focused on neuromotor recovery after brain and spinal cord injury.
- Operate and maintain neuromodulation equipment, perform clinical research experiments and assessments, analyze data, and assist with publishing findings under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
- Provide technical support and conduct research experiments in a clinical setting.
- Operate and maintain equipment and configurations for neuromodulation studies involving BCI, FES, TMS, and related approaches.
- Assist with laboratory equipment maintenance, data acquisition protocols, and procedure manuals.
- Educate new lab members on equipment operation.
- Assist with clinical and neurophysiological assessments and participant scheduling.
- Maintain supplies and record regulatory documents.
- Ensure accurate documentation and data records.
- Analyze, interpret, and synthesize data using scientific and statistical methods.
- Prepare progress reports and update research team members.
- Participate in laboratory meetings and contribute to scientific discussion.
- Contribute to publication and presentation of research results.
- MD or Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, kinesiology, or a related field.
- Prior technical experience with laboratory equipment for human neurophysiology is advantageous;
Matlab programming experience is beneficial.
- Data collection, organization, and analysis.
- Problem‑solving and critical decision making.
- Effective time management and project management.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Teamwork and independent work capability.
