A postdoctoral associate position is available in a vigorous research laboratory at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Miami, Florida for a highly motivated, well-trained individual interested in pursuing Blood Cancer and Epigenetic research.
Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will evaluate the cellular and molecular mechanism by which TET2 mutations lead to myeloid malignancies using various Tet2-deficient (constitutive and conditional) and Tet2 transgenic (WT, catalytic inactive and truncated Tet2) mouse models.
QualificationsQualified applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and a strong background in molecular and cellular biology, biochemistry, or related fields, and preferably have experience working with hematopoiesis and mouse models of cancer. Applicants with experience in stem cell biology or who are familiar with bioinformatic tools (particularly next-generation sequencing data analysis) are encouraged to apply. The ideal applicant is a goal-oriented, pro-active, and hardworking individual with excellent organizational skills who is passionate about making a difference in cancer research.
Excellent computer and communication skills and proficiency in English are mandatory.
