Surveillance Inspector Job Description
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of aircraft engines, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with FAA/EASA regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards. This position plays a critical role in certifying that all work performed is airworthy and properly documented before release.
ResponsibilitiesConduct in-process and final inspections of engine components, modules, and assemblies.
Verify compliance with technical manuals, service bulletins (SBs), and airworthiness directives (ADs).
Review and sign off on inspection records, work orders, and maintenance release documentation.
Ensure conformity with FAA/EASA Part 145 requirements and internal quality procedures.
Support audits, corrective action investigations, and regulatory compliance efforts.
Use precision measuring equipment and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, borescopes, gauges).
Identify, document, and escalate non-conformances to Quality Assurance.
Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Customer Service on quality-related issues.
Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure proper traceability of parts and materials.
Quality inspection expertise.
Experience with CFM
56, V2500, or CF6 engines.Strong knowledge of aircraft engine/component repair processes.
Familiarity with AMM, CMM, SBs, and ADs.
Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection documentation systems.
Ability to perform and certify borescope inspections.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Regulatory compliance focus (FAA/EASA).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clear communication and documentation accuracy.
Ability to handle high responsibility for safety and quality.
Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Repairman Certificate strongly preferred.
5+ years of inspection experience in an FAA/EASA Part 145 MRO environment.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
