Surveillance Inspector Job Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of aircraft engines, components, and assemblies to ensure compliance with FAA/EASA regulations, customer requirements, and company quality standards. This position plays a critical role in certifying that all work performed is airworthy and properly documented before release.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections of engine components, modules, and assemblies.

  • Verify compliance with technical manuals, service bulletins (SBs), and airworthiness directives (ADs).

  • Review and sign off on inspection records, work orders, and maintenance release documentation.

  • Ensure conformity with FAA/EASA Part 145 requirements and internal quality procedures.

  • Support audits, corrective action investigations, and regulatory compliance efforts.

  • Use precision measuring equipment and inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, borescopes, gauges).

  • Identify, document, and escalate non-conformances to Quality Assurance.

  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, and Customer Service on quality-related issues.

  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure proper traceability of parts and materials.

Essential Skills
  • Quality inspection expertise.



  • Experience with CFM
    56, V2500, or CF6 engines.

  • Strong knowledge of aircraft engine/component repair processes.

  • Familiarity with AMM, CMM, SBs, and ADs.

  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection documentation systems.

  • Ability to perform and certify borescope inspections.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Regulatory compliance focus (FAA/EASA).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Clear communication and documentation accuracy.

  • Ability to handle high responsibility for safety and quality.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License or Repairman Certificate strongly preferred.

  • 5+ years of inspection experience in an FAA/EASA Part 145 MRO environment.

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
