Overview

Thrive Miami, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, is looking for a Veterinary Technician to join the Surgery Department.

Location:

Miami, Florida
. Pay Range: $20-30 /HR based on experience and credentials. We are seeking full-time, but will consider part-time.

Role
Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist with hospital functions to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow in collaboration with the medical team.
  • Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed veterinary technicians.
  • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional information as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
  • Obtain relevant health history from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and maintain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Prefer one year of recent experience in an emergency or specialty setting
  • Commitment to working within a team environment
  • Positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a busy work setting
  • Professional demeanor and outgoing personality
