Overview
A premier Coral Gables Area–based company is seeking a high-performing, hands-on Lead Groundskeeper to help shape and maintain several acres of lush, waterfront grounds of a local estate. This role is ideal for a skilled horticulturist with a passion for organic gardening and beautiful outdoor environments. You will lead day-to-day garden operations, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, and ensure the property’s exterior is maintained to the highest standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly communicative, discreet, hands-on and collaborative—someone who takes pride in creating and sustaining an exceptional landscape.

Responsibilities- Support crew management and ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to standard.
- Perform and oversee all aspects of groundskeeping across multiple sites, including pruning, planting, watering, mulching, fertilizing, weeding, raking, blowing, and sweeping.
- Maintain diverse plantings (palms, ferns, tropical and ornamental species) using organic and sustainable methods.
- Implement and manage irrigation systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Apply integrated pest management practices and monitor plant health.
- Coordinate schedules and workflows with the grounds team, vendors, and the greater estate team.
- Plan and execute landscaping/gardening projects from concept through completion with a solutions-oriented mindset.
- Maintain a high level of discretion and professionalism at all times.
- 7+ years of professional landscaping or horticulture experience.
- B.S. in Horticulture, Agriculture, or related field preferred (or equivalent training).
- Strong knowledge of nursery/landscape plants and trees; experience in tropical environments a plus.
- Familiarity with organic practices and integrated pest management.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-management skills; high EQ.
- Proven project management abilities and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Tech-forward mindset with the ability to adopt new tools and workflows.
- Strong leadership and management capabilities - leads with a team-oriented approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly discreet and trustworthy.
- Must be local to the Miami area with a valid Florida driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted.
- Must have own vehicle and form of transportation
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and provide excellent references.
- Enthusiasm for organic gardening and sustainability
- Proficiency with gardening tools and equipment
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
- Strong English communication (Spanish a plus)
- Sense of humor and positive team spirit
Compensation: $70-$80/hr ++ DOE, $200/monthly fuel reimbursement, 2 weeks PTO + 5 paid federal holidays
Schedule
:
Full Time Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend support as needed (guaranteed 40 hours per week)
