The Bed Management Director (BMD) is responsible for ensuring the appropriate placement of patients throughout the hospital, and works with Case Management, Nursing, Environmental Services and any other department in order to proactively plan for patient admissions, discharges and transfers for effective patient flow. The BMD conducts frequent rounds to identify actual and potential bed availability, and actively participates and contributes to organizational initiatives that impact patient flow and reduce barriers to effective patient throughput.

• Experience with Meditech systems required.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in oral, written and electronic formats with both internal and external customers
• Competent in the application of medical necessity criteria (i.e., Inter Qual®)
• Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking abilities with proactive decision-making and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Demonstrates good organizational skills

• Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
• Bachelors Degree from an accredited School of Nursing
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
