Core Job Functions- Assess assigned patients and evaluate plans, including documentation of nursing care.
- Report symptoms and changes in patients’ condition and vital signs, and modify treatment plans as indicated.
- Review, evaluate, and report diagnostic tests to assess patient’s condition.
- Consult with physicians and other healthcare professionals related to assigned patients to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Consider patient age and culture during treatment and provide needed information regarding treatment plan.
- Provide psychological support to nurture a compassionate environment.
- Perform appropriate patient tests and safely administer medications within scope of practice. Keep accurate medication and treatment records per regulatory bodies and policies.
- Communicate care plans in a timely manner to patients, families, and appropriate team members, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines such as HIPAA.
- Assist in discharge planning using available resources.
- Plan, prioritize, and adjust assignments to accomplish goals and render superior patient care; seek assistance when needed.
- Adapt to changing work demands and environment; safely operate medical equipment.
- Act as a preceptor and assist new staff in the provision of care; provide concise and constructive feedback.
- Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
Certification and Licensing: Registered Nurse License;
Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
Experience: Minimum 2 Years of Nursing Experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (e.g., sanitation, decontamination).
- Excellent patient experience skills.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
