Job Summary
Job Title: Med Surg Registered Nurse
Location: Miami VA Healthcare System (including 7 Community-Based Outpatient Clinics)
Period of Performance: 03/12/2025 – 03/11/2030
Shift Schedule: Rotating eight (8), ten (10), and twelve-hour (12) tours on rotating day, night, and evening shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
Position Description: The RN will provide care in an acute care medical/surgical unit within a teaching and research environment. The role encompasses services related to spinal cord injuries, telemetry, orthopedics, medicine, oncology, neurology, acute rehabilitation, general surgery, and post-operative care.

Services include spinal cord, telemetry, orthopedics, medicine, oncology, neurology, acute rehabilitation, general surgery, and other post-operative services within a teaching and research environment. - Skills:
The RN will be responsible for patient assessments, medication administration, IV therapy, interdisciplinary team coordination, telemetry monitoring, admissions, discharges, transfers, delegating to assistive personnel, electronic medical record documentation, patient transport, and emergency response procedures. Must be BLS & ACLS certified. Competency in NGT insertion, chest tubes, trach care, dressing changes, patient condition monitoring, reporting and treating applicable findings, IV insertions, thoracentesis, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, twelve-lead EKG, Foley catheter insertion and removal, Doppler pressure, orthostatic blood pressure, wound therapy (wound vac), dressing changes, CPR, blood transfusion, blood draws, and drug administration (including BCMA), bladder irrigation, and other procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
The personnel assigned by the Contractor to perform the services covered by this task order shall possess an unrestricted license to practice nursing in one of the States, Territories, or Commonwealths of the United States or the District of Columbia.
