Job Summary and Qualifications

Assists new mothers and infants with breast feeding techniques. Our nurses who work within the Labor and Delivery unit assist new mothers and infants. Registered nurse responsibilities include all aspects of patient care. This care includes monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing pain and nausea.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
  • Minimum of 1 year previous clinical Maternal/Child experience.
  • One year (1) year of Lactation Nursing experience preferred.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.
  • IBCLC certification required.
  • Current NRP certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is located in west Miami‑Dade County. Our acute care facility has 417‑beds. Our services include trauma, burn, surgical, women’s and children’s services, behavioral health and diagnostic services. We have two full service free‑standing ER facilities.
