Bridge RN Program
Starts March 2, 2026—Apply January 4th thru 11th Only! (application period limited due to high interest and limited positions).
At Nicklaus Children’s Hospital our mission is to provide the best care to every child. The Bridge Program is specifically designed to support RNs that have worked, but only for a period of under 6 months in a non‑acute care setting (home health, school nursing, case management, etc.) and who are transitioning to the acute pediatric RN role. Standardized onboarding programs decrease turnover, medication errors, increase engagement, and strengthen nursing knowledge and skills.
Nurses receive a thorough orientation through didactic curriculum, interactive online modules, simulation, and hands‑on training with their preceptors, resulting in increased proficiency and clinical experience across multiple specialties.
If selected for this position a commitment of approximately 2 years will be required.
The following are the requirements and process to qualify for the Bridge Program:
- Must have an active Florida RN license (or multi‑state including Florida)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) is required at time of hire for all external candidates; current NCH employees will have to complete BSN degree within 36 months from start date in RN Horizon role
- Must have worked as an RN, but for a period of less than 6 months in a non‑acute care setting. If you are a new grad RN who never worked as an RN, you should apply for the Horizon Residency program, not Bridge program. If you are an RN that has worked for over 6 months, apply to any open RN position on our career page;
not the Bridge or Horizon program
The Process for this program: After reading the program requirements in the posting to confirm you meet the requirements, please complete the application in its entirety. Upload your resume. If selected for the next step, you will receive an email with instructions to complete/record a video interview. The deadline for video submissions is January 12 by 5:00pm; videos submitted after the deadline may not be considered.
Nursing leaders will then review all applicant submissions and, if you are selected for a panel interview, you will receive an email to schedule the interview date and time.
The Bridge Program is a structured RN Program that provides a comprehensive new RN onboarding experience in an acute care pediatric setting. It manages and directs nursing care activities, coordinates care planning, collaborates with the clinical and medical staff, and educates patients and their family members on procedures in a compassionate, patient and family‑centered care environment.
