Overview
Florida International University is a top public research university with 55,000 students and an active, international community. The CARTA Deans Office is seeking a Temporary Account Manager to join their team of professionals. The role supports communication strategies for CARTA and aligns with FIU’s mission and goals.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute communications strategies, including marketing, media relations, and public relations, for CARTA special projects that advance unit goals and fundraising, while contributing to the University7s mission.
- Write news stories in line with university guidelines; assist with printed and online materials (advertisements, videos) for CARTA Dean7s Office.
- Write, revise, and copyedit materials for the CARTA Dean7s Office in conformance with university standards.
- Promote internal and external CARTA news items via social media and other channels; engage with audiences and monitor responses.
- Draft speeches, op-eds, and columns for the CARTA Office of the Dean.
- Oversee promotion of special projects in collaboration with CARTA leadership and Marketing and Events teams.
- Maintain regular communication with the Associate Dean for Strategic Communication & Alliances; uphold brand integrity and university protocols.
- Handle confidential matters appropriately and interpret information/publications administrative rules to improve programs.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Temporary DisclosureAs a temporary employee, you will not be eligible to participate in all employee benefit programs. Under PPACA, temporary employees who work on average 30 hours or more per week may be eligible to enroll in health care benefits; supplemental plans may require employee payment.
Work Schedule- Hours may vary.

- $24.00 per hour.

Bachelor7s degree in marketing, media/public relations, communications, or related field; plus three (3) years of relevant experience.
