The Plant Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the care and maintenance of all property and production assets in a safe, sanitary, and efficient condition. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for staying up to date on new products, equipment, technology and techniques.
Position SummaryThis position installs, maintains, and repairs electromechanical equipment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Driving Company Performance- Perform routine maintenance (conduct preventative maintenance check-ups or read SPC charts and data) on production, packaging, processing equipment, and utility systems (to provide a continuous supply of steam, cooling, electrical, power, gas and compressed air required for operations).
- Repair malfunctioning machines and systems.
- Test and troubleshoot existing systems to reduce downtime.
- Document tests and report issues to supervisor.
- Read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Complete work orders in a timely manner maintaining high quality standard.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Monitor parts and supplies inventory. Report low supplies to supervisor.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management and employees and notify them of any problems and/or concerns that may restrict the efficiency of production.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Utilize continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
- Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.
- Responsible for food safety, pre-requisite programs and food quality related to designated area.
- Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Work Experience:
- At least one (1) year experience in electrical/electronic (LC, PLC5, Instrumentation/Controls, HMI, Industrial Electricity)
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a maintenance role within a manufacturing facility
- Minimum three (3) years' experience on a variety of equipment including lubricating, cleaning, material handling, motor control, relay control, process control and packaging equipment
- Education: High School diploma or Equivalent or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Technical Knowledge:
- Professional experience with ammonia refrigeration systems
- Able to inspect equipment and troubleshoot potential issues
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to write legibly to complete paperwork
- Basic Math skills
- Follow and comply with all safety standards

- Pass all pre-employment screens, including drug, background and criminal checks
- Work Experience:
- Experience in food and beverage industry
- Five (5) years' experience in maintenance role

This position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing warehouse environment that is exposed to wet and cold conditions. The employee may have some exposure to dust, fumes, and cleaning chemicals.
