Distribution Supervisor – Job Description General Description
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing and supervising the warehouse team and daily operational workflow to ensure customer expectations and departmental goals are consistently met. This role oversees inventory accuracy, receiving, storage, shipping, and cross departmental coordination while maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant warehouse environment.
Essential Job Functions- Supervise and coordinate the warehouse team; provide leadership, direction, coaching, and training as needed.
- Plan and schedule weekly workloads to ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Ensure component inventory counts are completed, verified, and documented in a timely manner.
- Confirm all Transfer Sheets and PO receipts are completed and verified.
- Oversee receipt, handling, and proper storage of components in designated bin locations.
- Ensure all procedures comply with established Logistics and Warehouse processes.
- Maintain employee awareness of job duties; ensure staff are cross trained to support department flexibility and growth.
- Enforce safety guidelines, equipment requirements, and company policies; ensure departmental procedures are consistently followed.
- Serve as an effective communication link between the warehouse and other departments.
- Understand customer requirements and ensure warehouse team members are informed of expectations.
- Oversee receiving, picking, packing, and fulfillment activities; support transportation needs from a warehouse operations perspective.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. - Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to direct and train team members.
- ISO procedural training strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of domestic and international shipping procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, motivate staff, and support achieving department goals.
- Ability to operate and train others on forklift and pallet jack equipment.
- Strong attention to detail; ability to work in a fast paced environment under pressure.
- Self starter with strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general PC skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle various tasks as needed.
- Climate controlled office environment within a manufacturing facility.
- Prolonged sitting and repetitive computer use.
- Frequent exposure to production and distribution areas, including noise, dust, and lift truck traffic.
- Occasional stress due to schedule pressures and shifting priorities.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs
M-F with potential Saturdays as needed based on Seasonality
