Overnight Distribution Operations Manager

Overview

The Warehouse Department Manager will be responsible for delivering warehouse and logistics solutions that provide the best customer experience in an efficient and cost effective manner. The Department Manager will focus on reducing costs/P&L performance, efficiencies, safety, service, strategic planning and projects, and team development to meet the department and company strategic goals. This role develops internal and external partnerships with transportation operations, sales, ops finance, procurement, and customers to continuously improve service metrics while reducing operational costs.

The position develops the operating plan for the assigned warehouse operations, both inbound and outbound, and is accountable for achieving operating results consistent with campus and company goals. The role manages the operations of assigned warehouses and work teams to ensure results meet or exceed customer expectations for product quality, service reliability, speed, and accuracy.

• Lead and/or influence a team to optimal performance by holding the team accountable to key metrics such as on-time dispatch, efficiency KPIs, ISQL performance, inventory accuracy, and asset management. Provide consistent coaching while maintaining morale and developing team members. Set high customer service and productivity expectations, monitor performance, and address gaps or opportunities. Lead the development of improved work processes and procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness of assigned teams, equipment, and space;

• Manage the P&L in budgeting, forecasting, and execution cycles. Identify opportunities to improve processes to reduce expenses or improve execution, understanding the impact on stakeholders and the region. Prepare operating budgets for assigned warehouses, review with the General Manager and Associate General Manager, and implement work processes to achieve budgetary and service goals.
• Oversee day-to-day operations. Schedule work teams and plan with supervisors to meet business needs under varying conditions. Assess business conditions, determine needs, and take action to address opportunities to improve service, reduce costs, and enhance operational results.
• Ensure clear communication with stakeholders and champion internal and external communications. Build relationships with partners in transportation operations, sales, customer service, procurement, and customers. Develop talent and drive positive leadership engagement.
• Promote a safety culture and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies. Maintain safe working conditions and lead accident prevention initiatives. Ensure hiring practices and training meet standards. Enforce company policies and SOPs. Ensure employees are informed of business processes and policies.

• 7-10 years:
  Work experience in retail operations, distribution, transportation, logistics, and/or supply chain management, or equivalent combination of education and experience
