Arcadis is seeking a capital project and infrastructure Funding and Implementation - National Practice Leader to join the Resilience Water Business Area (BA) in the United States. This full-time, hybrid position reports directly to the Resilience Water Management Practice Director and can be based anywhere in the United States where Arcadis has an active office.
As the National Practice Leader, you will collaborate with the Practice Director and leaders across every Arcadis division to create innovative strategies, partnerships, and value propositions to help capital projects, infrastructure, and resilience initiatives advance nationwide. You will obtain an understanding of clients funding, finance, and implementation blockers and needs, examine emerging issues and market trends, innovative possibilities and alternative project delivery options, evaluate partners and competitors, mentor others, and provide technical support to team leads and practitioners.
The role will explore and implement emerging funding models, such as blended finance, outcome-based contracts, and incentives, while also driving success through more traditional approaches (e.g., grants and bonds). It will help clients, partners, and Arcadis develop and implement plans to maximize success.
Success in this role will be measured by project advancement, the number of new partnerships, new markets, market reputation, the value of order intake, and revenue growth attributable to new funding mechanisms, as well as a reduction in project delays due to resolved bottlenecks.
Role AccountabilitiesAs a National Practice Leader, you will partner with cross-functional teams to develop successful proposals, integrate funding and implementation mechanisms with technical solutions, and support strategies that advance capital projects, infrastructure programs, and resilience initiatives for clients and partners. In this role, you will collaborate closely with practitioners and technical experts to ensure strong coordination across the National Funding Team, while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a thought leader within the industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and resolving obstacles to project advancement, including funding gaps, permitting challenges, and partnership issues.
- Building technical expertise in both traditional and emerging mechanisms to accelerate critical client projects and community improvements.
- Serving as Pursuit Lead for major and strategic initiatives, including those reviewed by the Pursuit Committee.
- Leading thought leadership efforts in collaboration with Communities of Practice, practitioners, the Practice Director, and the Growth team, while representing Arcadis at national forums.
- Providing mentoring, technical support, and participating in recruitment and staffing strategies to strengthen team capabilities and maintain national practice excellence.
This role also includes oversight of quality control, escalation of issues to senior leadership as needed, and approximately 40% in-person engagement for client meetings and project coordination activities.
Key Skills and AttributesThe ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of funding pursuits, program development, and/or grants and program management, including the tools, techniques, and methodologies needed to achieve successful outcomes. Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to articulate client perspectives and convey thought leadership effectively. You must be able to clearly communicate strategic value to client executives and stakeholders, while demonstrating a proven ability to implement innovative funding and implementation initiatives that drive client success.
The role also requires the ability to lead and motivate teams by influence, fostering collaboration and engagement across diverse stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field
- 10 years of experience leading funding and implementation-related efforts, such as grants, revenue, finance, or supporting policy and initiative implementation
- 3 years of experience advancing innovative or experimental funding, financing, and implementation means to drive project progress.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in a related field
- One or more applicable certifications, such as PMP, PE, AICP, CP3P, Six Sigma/ Lean, PgMP, GPC, CMA
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of alternative forms of delivery and procurement that can support project implementation
