Main Activities and ResponsibilitiesReporting organisationally to the Interpretation Unit Lead, the Interpretation Venue Operations Manager will be a key member of the FIFA
26 Interpretation team, and work in close collaboration with the Interpretation Unit Lead and team based in Zurich and in Miami as well as other key individuals responsible for delivering in-stadium interpretation services for events and meetings associated with FIFA World Cup 2026™.
- Taking the lead on tasks directly related to the recruitment and management of interpretation volunteers and the venue interpretation coordinators for each stadium, in close collaboration with the FIFA Interpretation Unit every step of the way
- Leading, training and being the first point of contact for the venue interpretation coordinators
- Drafting job descriptions and other volunteer recruitment materials
- Planning and implementing volunteer recruitment, onboarding and training processes in concert with the Volunteers department and the Interpretation Unit
- Drafting volunteer procedures, policies and codes of conduct as necessary
- Developing the Volunteer Interpreter Dispatch Plan, setting out volunteer shifts, matches and stadium assignment
- Directly managing and actively communicating with Venue Interpretation Coordinators ahead of and during the tournament
- Dynamically responding to and reporting on logistical, staffing and technical issues as they arise
- Collecting, managing, tracking and analyzing documentation and information related to volunteer interpreters, reporting to the FIFA Interpretation Unit
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3 years experience in the interpretation sector in a management or similar role
- Experience in event and/or volunteer management is a plus
- Experience in sports management is a plus
- Fluent in English
- Spanish proficiency is a must
- French proficiency is a plus
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
