Overview

United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring a Senior Director, Early Head Start Child Care Partnership to join our team. As a Senior Director, Early Head Start Child Care Partnership, you will be responsible for assuring that all the Head Start program mandates and standards for excellence are met daily. This position assists in the development of the structure, systems, and procedures to facilitate this.

In addition to operating responsibility for programmatic aspects of the program, it bears the responsibility of assuring that the program is strategically positioned for the future.

Position summary:

The Early Head Start Child Care Partnership Senior Director, in collaboration with the VP, is responsible for assuring all the Head Start program mandates and standards for excellence are met daily. This position assists in the development of the structure, systems, and procedures to facilitate this. In addition to operating responsibility for programmatic aspects of the program, it bears the responsibility of assuring that the program is strategically positioned for the future.

Salary Range: $79,286-$92,681 annually

People & Engagement

• Responsible for Performance Management plans for all supervises.

• Responsible for approving Time and Attendance for hourly staff directly under supervision.

• Include progressive counseling, ensuring adherence to UWM, EEOC, federal, state, and local guidelines.

• Develop strategies that support retention and team building through divisions’ communication systems and staff meetings.

• Manages staff, consumers, and general public grievances according to policies and procedures.

• Responsible for tracking the implementation of strategies to meet Program Goals.

• Monitors implementation of responsibilities of employees through observation, monthly supervisory meetings, team meetings, and review of files and documentation.

• Hires and, if necessary, separates employment with staff in compliance with applicable laws and policies, ensuring parent input where applicable.

Health Safety, Licensing

• In collaboration with the Early Head Start Grantee HUB team, ensures compliance of EHS CCP partners with the Early Head Start Performance Standards, Department of Children and Families regulations, and all related accreditation requirements.

Financial

• Maintains a close working relationship with the Fiscal Coordinator to oversee budget status and expenditures.

Staff Supervision / Professionalism

• Maintain confidentiality and model a professional work ethic. Participate in onboarding HUB staff and align with program goals.

• Demonstrate knowledge of ages and stages of development for children 0 to 36 months.

• Ensure reflective practice and supervision to support staff development and performance evaluation.

• Attend community meetings, training, or events.

• Project UWMD’s mission, goals, philosophies, and policies to families, staff, and the community.

• Keeps abreast of trends and research in the early childhood field.

Teamwork

• Establish and maintain cooperation and respect with co-workers; share workload and take initiative.

• Lead and supervise teams through communication, collaboration, and curriculum planning.

• Lead a healthy climate for HUB staff.

Decision Making

• Exercise independent judgment on a daily basis.

• Maintain oversight of incidents and changes pertaining to the program and partnership sites.

Requirements

Education Requirements:

A bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience in Head Start Management systems is required. Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related Child Development field…
