Job Summary: Supports and facilitates the operations of the University by ensuring a safe, functional learning environment for the continued growth of students and community.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with maintenance and repair of work orders in reference to various trades.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance inspections, make temporary or permanent repairs, and report defects not handled during a regular shift.
• Operate university vehicle for collection of recyclable materials; work with forklift (certification required) and electric pallet jack for supplies deliveries in custodial zones.
• Collect recyclables for transport to recycling compound for separation and processing.
• Maintain schedule of recycling collection from university facilities and organize inventory in warehouse and custodial supply closets.
• Maintain recycling and sanitation sites in a clean, sanitary condition; assist with laundry services for microfiber pads and other items.
• Assist with deliveries and pick‑ups for customer requests on confidential bins, boxes, batteries, cartridges, pallets, etc.
• Assist in removing collected solid waste and recyclables from custodial closets and transferring to dumpsters/recycling compound.
• Assist in general and detailed cleaning of building spaces and surfaces while following proper cleaning and chemical procedures.
• Perform essential duties during emergencies (hurricanes, public health emergencies, etc.) and be available during university emergency closures.
• Perform general emergency duties related to work aspects such as hurricane protection, water/fire damage, and other emergencies; perform other related duties as required.

Other Information:

• Must be able to work with cleaning chemicals, liquid, solid waste and soiled material.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.
• Flexible hours and occasional work at locations outside the University.
• Rotating shifts.
