Job Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site position for a Family Law Attorney in Miami, FL. The attorney will manage a broad spectrum of family law matters, including divorce, modifications, post‑judgment actions, time sharing, child support, and related litigation. Daily responsibilities include overseeing legal issues, drafting and filing motions, conducting depositions, attending mediations, and representing clients in court. The attorney will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and provide tailored, practical legal guidance throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Litigation: Manage cases end‑to‑end, including pleadings, discovery, mediations, evidentiary hearings, and trials.
  • Courtroom Advocacy: Represent clients at case management, temporary relief, enforcement, and contempt hearings; conduct depositions and cross‑examinations.
  • Client Counseling: Provide practical, solutions‑oriented guidance; manage client expectations with clear timelines and budgets.
  • Negotiation & Settlement: Draft and argue motions; negotiate and propose settlements where appropriate.
  • Quality Work Product: Prepare precise motions, MSJs, financial affidavits, parenting plans, and final judgments.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior attorneys and paralegals; review work product; lead case‑status meetings; support training and development.
  • Operational Excellence: Utilize firm systems (Clio Manage, Microsoft 365/SharePoint, Zoom, etc.); maintain docket control, deadlines, and billing compliance.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5‑8 years of Family Law experience in Florida, managing a variety of legal matters.
  • Proficient in drafting and filing motions and other legal documents.
  • Active membership in the Florida Bar.
  • Experienced in conducting depositions and pre‑trial procedures.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Compassionate, client‑focused approach to sensitive family law matters.
  • Meets or exceeds billable hour and collection targets.
  • Timely, high‑quality filings with zero missed deadlines.
  • High client satisfaction (NPS/Google reviews) and proactive communication.
  • Proactive case management: clear next actions, well‑prepared hearings, and on‑time deliverables.
  • Positive leadership impact through mentoring, feedback, and team capacity building.
Additional Information
  • Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000
  • Timeline: ASAP
  • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, CLE/bar dues, and malpractice coverage.
  • This is a managing attorney position so you will be an advisor and mentor to the junior attorneys and paralegals.
  • Along with managing, you will also have your own smaller caseload with billable hours (10 at a time max).
