About the Company:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Immigration Attorney to provide high-quality, compassionate legal services to low-income immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. The attorney will manage a diverse caseload, represent clients before various immigration agencies and courts, and contribute to the center's mission of empowering immigrants to build successful lives and enrich the community. This role requires a strong commitment to social justice, excellent legal skills, and the ability to work effectively with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file necessary legal documents, petitions, and applications with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), National Visa Center (NVC), and the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR).
- Represent clients at interviews, hearings, and other proceedings before USCIS and the Immigration Court.
- Conduct legal research and draft legal briefs, motions, and other legal memoranda.
- Provide expert immigration consultations, explaining complex legal concepts and procedures clearly and empathetically.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough client records and case notes in the organization's database.
- Stay up to date with the latest changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policies through continuous legal education and professional development.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have at least 2 years of prior experience as an Immigration Attorney
- Must have experience in litigation
- Fully Bilingual (English and Spanish required)
- Experience in non-profit or public interest setting preferred but not required
Pay range and compensation package:
Schedule:
Monday – Friday | 9:00AM – 5:00PM Pay: $120,000 - $140,000
