Hiscox Miami is currently searching for a diligent Underwriter Assistant to primarily support the growth and development of the Fine Arts, Product Recall, Terrorism and Kidnap and Ransom portfolios. This is an opportunity for someone who has pride in their work and can handle detail. It is also an appointment where there will be plenty of opportunity to improve knowledge and skills in a highly respected insurance company.
You will be expected to meet agreed to service standards and key performance objectives.
- Handle the processing of policies, including data entry, policy issuance, endorsements, cancellations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, review and organize documents, contracts, and reports related to policy and claims ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, claims adjusters, and other departments to facilitate the exchange of information and ensure coordinated efforts.
- Work within a plan of key performance indicators and meet headline targets of service for facultative reinsurance brokers in Miami, as well as in Latin America. This will mainly focus on Fine Arts, Product Recall, Kidnap and Ransom, and Terrorism products.
- Assist with the set-up of new classes of business as opportunities arise.
- Maintain and develop existing relationships with regional brokers and contacts.
- Maintain and exceed all Service Level Agreements as directed.
- Maintain compliance with adopted rules, working procedures and other forms of best practice.
- Maintain excellent service standards.
- Work on other projects, as assigned.
- 1-3 years of experience in a corporate setting; preferably in a critically thinking support role; (re) insurance experience is ideal.
- Must be proficient in Spanish and English, Portuguese would be a plus.
- High levels of organization skills.
- Strong organizational, numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of internal and external customers, including brokers.
- High levels of integrity, courage and desire to go the extra mile in the pursuit of team success.
- Be able to adhere to the appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Internet applications.

$60,000-$75,000
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
AdditionalPlease note that this position is hybrid and requires two (2) days in our office weekly.
