Position Overview

As a Tier 1 Data Center Operations & Network Support Technician, you will be on the front lines of keeping mission‑critical infrastructure running. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role supporting both network operations and data center (IBX) operations. The role is ideal for someone early in their IT or networking career who enjoys working with servers, hardware, and customers—and wants to grow in a world‑class data center and network environment.

You’ll support the service desk, assist customers and internal teams, perform Smart Hands / Remote Hands tasks, and help troubleshoot network, server, and infrastructure issues in a secure, always‑on environment.

Key Requirements

An active Top Secret clearance is required.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot network problems and outages; provide Level 3 Network Triage support.
  • Publish and support/manage the EGS‑Helpdesk & NOC checklists for Tiers 1, 2, and 3.
  • Provide escalation level support for multi‑vendor devices and own the workarounds published for field support.
  • Perform network monitoring and create end‑to‑end solutions that allow proactive monitoring.
  • Collaborate with vendors on hardware and software roadmaps, certifications, problems, and resolutions for better triaging needs.
  • Review and provide feedback on improving supportability and applicability of workarounds (for both internal and external communities).
  • Deliver and increase effectiveness of reports, metrics on incidents and events.
  • Create troubleshooting scripts and software.
Sustaining Operations
  • Perform software and device patch updates, network device monitoring, software patch updates, and network tools health checks.
  • Validate fixes, monitor network tools, report any device or software outages, and prioritize the issues.
  • Create network‑level reports or device‑level reports.
  • Run periodic health audits for device and products.
  • Provide escalation on‑call support for NOC.
  • Perform capacity management for a given product in the region.
Service Delivery
  • Perform Network Service fulfillment for quote‑to‑cash transactional tickets for all network and datacenter products (Interconnections, DCIM, etc.).
  • Ensure successful fulfillment of the Software‑triggered provisioning (e.g., VC’s and RI’s).
  • Review metrics and identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of the fulfillment (per customer and per transaction).
Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret U.S. Government Clearance.
  • 1–3 years of experience.
  • Working‑level experience in Network Operations including monitoring power failures, communication line alarms (such as bit errors, framing errors, line coding errors, and circuits down) and other performance issues that may affect the network.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule: weekday/night shifts, holidays, including weekends, and amenable to overtime.
  • Able to function in a 24/7 operation.
  • Able to work constructively in a team environment.
Targeted Pay Range (United States – MI1 Miami)

90,000 – 136,000 USD per year.

Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full‑time position determined by role, level, and location. The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
