Information Technology Summer Intern

Overview Mas Tec is a leading North American infrastructure engineering and construction company focused primarily on engineering, building, installation, maintenance and upgrade of communications, energy and utility and other infrastructure, such as: wireless, wireline/fiber; power delivery infrastructure, including transmission, distribution, grid hardening and modernization, environmental planning and compliance; power generation infrastructure, primarily from clean energy and renewable sources; pipeline infrastructure, including for natural gas, water and carbon capture sequestration pipelines and pipeline integrity services;

Responsibilities Include:

- Performing clerical duties, taking memos, maintaining files, and organizing documents.

- Assisting in preparing information and research materials.

- Running general industry related errands.

- Composing documents, drafts, and reports.

- Managing databases and inputting information, data, and/or records. The Intern will support the IT DBA group within the organization through a structured experience. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and eager to learn in a dynamic professional environment. Responsibilities Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of Oracle database systems to ensure high availability and performance Support routine database administration tasks such as backups, recovery testing, and patch management Help analyze database performance metrics and participate in tuning efforts (SQL optimization, indexing, query analysis) Work with senior DBAs to troubleshoot database issues and resolve system alerts Participate in database user management activities, including access provisioning and role-based security assignments Document database procedures, configurations, and operational workflows for internal knowledge sharing Support database migration and upgrade projects under guidance of experienced team members Gain exposure to Oracle tools such as RMAN, Data Pump, OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager), and SQL Developer Qualifications High School/GED (Business, Communications, Finance, IT, or related fields preferred but not required).

Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in IT. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently. Good written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace. Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
