Senior Research Analyst - SAS Programmer

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $48,000.00-$55,000.00

About the Position

The University of Miami/UHealth Division Neuromuscular Program in the Department of Neurology offers an opportunity for a full-time or part-time statistical programmer to join a dynamic clinical and translational research group focused on therapy development for Lou Gehrig’s disease (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS) in Miami, FL.

Hybrid option available – required onsite reporting and training.

Core Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies for real-time data quality control.
  • Conduct routine data checks to ensure data integrity and completeness.
  • Write SAS macros and programs for data cleaning, reporting (tables, listings, figures), and creation of analysis datasets.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of procedures (e.g., via programming, restructuring of data files, expansion of database components) to improve efficiency and support growth of the research program.
  • Perform statistical analyses defined in statistical analysis plans, as needed.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Core Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or a closely related analytical field.
  • Experience in SAS programming.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong organizational and follow‑up skills, and attention to detail.
  • Experience with relational databases (preferably MySQL) desired.
  • Knowledge of SQL desired.
