Payroll Specialist
Atlantis University is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our Financial Services team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining employee satisfaction through precise compensation management.

Key Objectives- Manage and execute end-to-end payroll processing for all employees in compliance with company policies and government regulations.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.
- Support payroll reporting and audits to uphold data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles accurately and on schedule.
- Calculate wages, benefits, deductions, taxes, and other payroll-related items.
- Maintain payroll databases, records, and reports ensuring confidentiality and security of employee information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Respond promptly to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with HR to update payroll information related to new hires, terminations, salary changes, and leave of absence.
- Prepare and submit payroll tax payments and reports.
- Assist in year-end payroll activities including W-2 and 1099 processing.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and implement best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in payroll processing, preferably within the financial services or education sector.
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
