We are searching for a Benefits Manager for our client in Miami. You will be responsible for overseeing and executing the daily operations of the firm’s comprehensive benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, workers’ compensation, life insurance, flexible spending plans, retirement plans, and more.
Duties & Responsibilities- Plan, implement, and administer retirement and health and welfare benefit programs.
- Manage day?to?day benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, and deductions.
- Review and approve all payroll-related benefit entries to ensure accuracy of deductions, retro adjustments, and leave?related changes.
- Partner with brokers to evaluate annual renewals, analyze market trends, and develop strategic recommendations.
- Lead annual Open Enrollment, including project planning, system configuration, vendor coordination, testing, communications, and reconciliation.
- Oversee benefits communication and education to ensure employees and managers understand available resources.
- Coordinate employee leaves of absence in collaboration with Office Administrators.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of benefit programs and recommend revisions or new programs to leadership.
- Provide timely and accurate support to employees and partners regarding benefits-related inquiries.
- Maintain statistical data on benefit plans to support cost management, budgeting, and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including ACA reporting requirements.
- Maintain all benefit-related documentation, including plan documents, SPDs, filings, and contracts.
- Oversee vendor invoice processing, auditing, recordkeeping, reporting, and accuracy of benefit information.
- Work with Finance to project and track benefit costs for budgeting purposes.
- Serve as the primary liaison with consultants, actuaries, and carriers for renewals, problem?solving, and contract negotiations.
- Develop and distribute annual Open Enrollment materials.
- Strong technical aptitude with proficiency in Microsoft products, including PowerPoint, and experience with HRIS and benefits databases.
- Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong planning skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical abilities and in?depth knowledge of plan design.
- Ability to interpret, evaluate, and respond to vendor proposals (RFPs).
- Solid understanding of benefits contract language.
- Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations related to benefits, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, workers’ compensation, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security, and DOL requirements.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
- Three to five years of benefits administration experience, preferably within an AMLAW 200 law firm.
- SHRM?
CP, SHRM?
SCP, and/or CEBS certifications preferred.
