Human Resources Business Partner
HR Business Partner leads an HR team that supports the business units and interacts with Department Heads and Senior Management on day‑to‑day priorities and goals. This office‑based role, located in Miami, FL, oversees all Corporate and Retail stores.
Job DescriptionAs a Human Resources Business Partner, you will focus on employee relations, proactive recruitment strategy, performance management, talent development, organizational design, productivity and retention, and change management. You will also develop and support projects and initiatives surrounding employee engagement, total rewards, training, recognition, and advancement.
Responsibilities- Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and organizational challenges, conducting thorough investigations.
- Research, develop and implement innovative recruitment and compensation policies tailored to the business environment.
- Maintain in‑depth knowledge of legal requirements, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance; partner with the legal department as needed.
- Develop, implement and manage recruitment strategies including sourcing, managing third‑party recruitment resources, vendor contract negotiation, screening, interviewing, recommending candidates, conducting reference checks, and making job offers.
- Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement.
- Advise and guide management through various employee relations issues and strengthen their decision‑making and leadership skills.
- Create, facilitate, and/or implement HR‑related training (e.g., Performance Management, Coaching, Development, Communication Styles).
- Administer leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, and unemployment.
- Develop and manage the Performance Management process, providing guidance to the HR team and management.
- Ensure plans of action (training, documentation, resolution, performance counseling) are executed and deadlines met.
- Provide guidance and input on workforce planning, succession planning, and HR policy interpretation.
- Analyze trends and metrics with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
- Coordinate with HQ for expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
- Work directly with department heads on rollout of policy and procedure changes, benefit programs and related changes.
- All other duties as assigned by Management.
- 10+ years of HR experience with a track record of career growth.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Psychology, or related field.
- PHR, SPHR, or HRCI certification preferred.
- Preferred specialty in retail HR.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (California experience is a strong plus).
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Leadership and team‑building skills.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong work ethic and ability to make efficient, accurate decisions using good judgment.
- Ability to lead and direct others to maximize performance.
- Ability to multi‑task and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Creative thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and flex between tactical projects and strategy.
- Excellent people‑management skills and thoughtful decision making.
- Flexibility to travel up to 25% of the time.
