Position SummaryRadiologic Technologist 1 is responsible for operating radiological equipment to perform diagnostic examinations in a clinic, emergency department, or hospital laboratory. The role includes assisting radiologists in fluoroscopic procedures and ensuring high quality imaging while maintaining patient safety.
Duties & Responsibilities- Produce radiographs of chest, abdomen, extremities, spine, and other areas in an emergency room, clinic, or hospital setting.
- Position patients and take required radiographs during fluoroscopic examinations.
- Adjust equipment at appropriate angles and heights and position patients appropriately for x‑ray examinations.
- Provide radiation protection in accordance with prescribed age‑specific safety standards.
- Calculate technical factors to produce radiographs of proper detail, density, and contrast ensuring good quality control.
- Transport patients to and from appropriate holding areas or other assigned areas.
- Operate portable x‑ray equipment, performing chest or other examinations at the bedside when required.
- Use immobilization devices as required, adhering to safety standards for the patient’s age‑specific needs.
- Assist radiologists or other medical specialists during fluoroscopy and administer contrast materials.
- Maintain safety standards and perform basic duties in patient care, initiating life‑support measures if necessary.
- Follow infection control policies, Universal Precautions, and departmental and hospital rules and protocols.
- Assist registration with assigned duties such as quick registering and welcoming patients.
- Attend a minimum of 80 % of scheduled staff meetings and demonstrate behaviors of service excellence and CARE values.
- Perform all other related job duties as assigned.
- 0 to 3 years of related experience.
- Associate’s degree in Radiology Technology is required.
- Minimum education level required is verified at hire.
- Valid Florida state license as a Radiology Technologist.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with at least 6 months validity.
