Paramedic Instructor – University of Miami

The University of Miami’s Gordon Center is seeking several qualified, part‑time, temporary Paramedic Instructors at all levels to work in Miami, FL. Instructors will instruct and train medical personnel in their area of expertise in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. The incumbent also monitors course effectiveness and uses advanced skills to enhance student learning and participation.
Responsibilities- Assess the instructional needs of the designated EMS programs.
- Plan, evaluate, and revise curriculum needs, and develop and implement course syllabi to assure completion of program goals and requirements.
- Maintain current licensure and level of expertise, and stay abreast of current changes in the field.
- Ensure that course syllabi are revised to accurately reflect the expectations faculty have of students.
- Provide students with current information regarding course requirements, grade determinations, testing, and programmatic policies.
- Participate in meetings to assist leadership’s decision‑making process and share expertise with colleagues.
- Compile, administer, and grade assignments and examinations.
- Disseminate information to students and prepare exams and class presentations.
- Provide a safe environment for students by encouraging them to use available support services, engage in group activities, and participate in health science programs.
- Secure assigned equipment, classrooms, tools, resources, and all other relevant assets.
- Maintain FERPA standards as applied to public institutions of higher learning.
- Assist in implementing changes according to the recommendations set forth by the accrediting agencies.
- Follow the established clinical affiliation agreements with accredited clinical agencies.
- Participate in the development, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of institutional effectiveness plans and measures.
- Adhere to university and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard university assets.

Minimum QualificationsParamedic Instructor I, II and III
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Paramedic license and certification in relevant specialty or field.
Senior Paramedic Instructor and Senior Paramedic Instructor II
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Paramedic license and certification in relevant specialty or field.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
- Commitment to the university’s core values.
- Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
Paid varies depending on experience.
Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and or certifications may be considered.
