Clinical Social Worker, MSW is responsible for implementation and maintenance of special research studies related to social services, counseling, leadership, and policy development while working with adult and pediatric patients. Functions both within the hospital setting and in satellite clinics.

• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary staff to design and implement appropriate treatment plans, including discharge plans.
• Provide professional counseling and therapeutic intervention to patients and/or families utilizing age‑specific treatment modalities.
• Collaborate with community agencies that provide services for patients and families.
• Lead or co‑lead patient groups as needed.
• Submit statistical reports as required.
• Participate in orientation and training of social work and interdisciplinary staff.
• Participate in research projects as required for program planning and evaluation.
• Maintain current knowledge of social work practice, including age‑related bio‑psychosocial issues.
• Participate in committees as assigned.
• Supervise students.
• Provide coverage as assigned.
• Participate in hospital, departmental, and unit meetings.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.

Master’s degree in Social Work is required.

• Exercise sound independent judgment.
• Knowledge and skill in appropriate technology and software applications.

BLS certification required only for staff who provide bedside care or perform physical clinical interventions with patients.

Physical requirements include extended standing or walking; carrying objects 21‑50 lbs and lifting 51‑100 lbs with appropriate devices; frequent visual acuity and computer use. Environmental conditions include fast‑paced, high‑pressure situations, exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, needle sticks, airborne infections, medical gases, X‑ray, chemical exposures. PPE required.
