Care Assistant - Nursing Float Pool (Full Time, Days)

Job SummaryResponsible for maintaining a clean, organized, safe patient environment and assisting with patient care activities such as taking vital signs, feeding, bathing and daily living activities. Collaborates with the healthcare team and provides compassionate and empathic family‑centered care for patients and families. Works under the supervision of an RN and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
MinimumJob Requirements
- Active licensure in the State of Florida: C.N.A. certification, EMT, or Paramedic.
- CPR:
Healthcare Provider. - Psychiatric requirements per policy.
- High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving, critical thinking, and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate in a team environment.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Computer literate.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
- Ability to follow the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Nursing Leader in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to apply evidence‑based practice, analytical thinking, and service excellence in practice.
- CPI (Crisis Intervention Training) preferred.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, personal hygiene, nutrition, comfort measures, changing bed linens, and diapers.
- Perform vital signs, measurements, and record results in the EHR according to nursing and hospital policies.
- Inform RN of pertinent information and/or communicate significant changes in patient condition or behavior.
- Recognize accepted priorities for care needs and take direction for re‑prioritizing from the RN.
- Restock supplies such as gloves, gowns, linen, medical equipment; assist with room preparation and turnover.
- Identify patient needs and provide necessary supplies accordingly.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and promote/practice cost containment.
- Maintain cleanliness of patient rooms and the nursing station at all times.
- Provide encouragement, support, and comfort to patients and family members.
- Assist with transporting patients for special procedures.
- Perform other assigned tasks to promote efficient practice operation and contribute to the provision of quality patient care.
- Greet and welcome patients, families, and visitors; communicate information regarding MCH services and deliver excellent and timely service and support.
