Imaging Equipment Engineer 1 Job Overview
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Clinical Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Full‑Time Imaging Equipment Engineer 1 to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The incumbent assists in the installation, inspection, troubleshooting, repairs, calibration, and verification of medical imaging equipment, including general radiographic rooms, portables, mammography, ultrasound, bone density, and supporting equipment. The role also involves maintaining regulatory compliance, inventory management, and serving as a technical advisor to UHealth personnel on specialty equipment.
Responsibilities- Assist with performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, and operation verification procedures (OVP) on complex medical imaging equipment.
- Inform supervisors of repair status, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and customer concerns.
- Coordinate activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery.
- Maintain Clinical Engineering expertise through ongoing training and education.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database, including inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
- Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), regulatory compliance, and applicable policies and procedures.
- Work with Medical Physicists on accurate radiation outputs to ensure patient safety.
- Build and maintain customer relationships and discuss equipment status with clinicians.
- Represent UHealth services positively by integrating core values into job performance.
- Perform periodic inspections of current inventory and maintain common failure parts inventory to ensure uptime.
- Verify completion of security analysis for new customer equipment.
- Perform Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial, evaluation, rental, loaner, and permanently assigned equipment.
- Maintain the equipment database's accuracy and integrity of inventory, PA schedules, nomenclature, and service history.
- Adhere to University and unit‑level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.

Qualifications Core Qualifications- Associate’s degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
